Tikos Big Band was born in 2003 in Tijuana, Baja California, summoned by “Tavo Valdez” and the pleasure of playing big band music, which at the same time promoted this musical culture. This concept has allowed a large number of musicians with a vocation to live the experience and meet to also promote new talents in the region.
Gustavo Valdez
He began playing music from the age of 6, with the piano being his first related instrument. By 1999, together with his father’s band, he toured with the band in Baja California and some cities in California. By 2003 he has accompanied artists of national and international stature such as Emmanuel and José José on stage with his saxophone.
In March 2003 he decided to form his own Jazz group “Tikos Big Band” in honor of the musical lineage accompanied by the best musicians in the region.
